Those addresses read almost like an itinerary. Coffee can lead to a library program. An afternoon at a public park can finish with dinner. A routine errand can turn into trivia or live music without requiring an elaborate plan.

A familiar taproom entered a new chapter
The clearest sign of the shift is the taproom at 1756 Lake Woodmoor Drive.
Pikes Peak Brewing officially became Goat Patch Brewing Company–Monument in January 2026. Goat Patch had acquired Pikes Peak Brewing’s assets in 2024, and the transition retained two Pikes Peak beers. That balance between continuity and change matters in a place where a business can become part of residents’ weekly routines.
The new identity is especially visible in the current Goat Patch event calendar. On Tuesday, July 21, Tacos & Trivia runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with rotating food trucks focused on tacos.

Lake Woodmoor is privately owned by Woodmoor Water & Sanitation. It is not a Woodmoor Improvement Association common area, and trespassing is prohibited. WIA common areas also have restricted access for Woodmoor residents, their families, houseguests and resident tenants.
That means visitors to the library, café, restaurant or brewery should not treat Lake Woodmoor as a public place for fishing, walking, picnicking or launching watercraft. The Woodmoor common-area rules make that distinction explicit.
For public lake recreation, use Monument Lake and follow the town’s current rules. The lake is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Swimming and wading are prohibited, as are camping and general shoreline fires. Pets must remain leashed, and anglers age 16 or older need a valid fishing license. Electric trolling motors are allowed under the lake ordinance, though current conditions should always be confirmed before bringing watercraft.

The distinction is simple: Lake Woodmoor Drive can organize the day, but Lake Woodmoor itself is not the public recreation component of that day.

The county’s procurement forecast lists a construction bid solicitation for the Woodmoor Drive–Lake Woodmoor Drive intersection in the third quarter of 2026. That is a procurement target, not a confirmed construction start or completion date.
Residents can review the county traffic study and monitor the procurement forecast for updates. Until a formal schedule is published, plans should stay flexible and claims about construction timing should stay cautious.
The best Monument summer plans now come in layers
Lake Woodmoor Drive did not replace downtown Monument, Monument Lake or the town’s parks. It made them easier to combine.
